Get started using Donzo

Click Start Recording

This is pretty straightforward. Just click the button.

Enable your computer's microphone

If this is your first time using Donzo or if you're using Incognito Mode in your browser, you'll need to give it permission to use your microphone for recording.

Choose what you want to record

You'll need to decide which part of your computer you want to record. You can choose a specific tab, window or screen. This may vary depending on which browser you are using. Chrome is the recommended browser to use with Donzo.

Click Stop Recording

When you're finished recording just click Stop Recording. After you stop recording Donzo will begin processing your recording and converting it to mp4.

Editing

Downloading and Editing your recording

After your video has processed you'll have the option to download your video and you can also have Donzo try to edit your video for you.

How does Donzo edit the video?

Donzo reviews the audio from your recording and looks for mistakes and cuts those out. So in order for Donzo to edit your recording you will have to give it permission to access your microphone and you have to have recorded your audio.

How long does it take to edit a video?

It definitely varies. Longer videos obviously take longer. A good rule of thumb is that takes about 30 seconds to edit 1 minute of video.

Download your edited video

When Donzo has finished editing your video you'll be able to download it.

Can I edit the video myself too?

Not at this time. Currently, Donzo is just focused on being incredibly simple. So there is not a manual edit option. That will likely be available in the future.

FAQs

Where are recordings stored? What about privacy and security?

Recordings aren't stored anywhere. As soon as the user session ends, the recordings are deleted.

Is there a time limit for recordings?

Nope. Record as long as you want. Although, the caveat is that editing may not working with long videos. Editing takes quite a bit of compute resources and longer videos may cause it to crash.

Is there a limit to the number of recordings?

Nope. Record as much as you want. No caveats.

Can Donzo edit previously recorded videos?

Not currently. But that's on the roadmap!

Any best practices for recording?

In order to help Donzo give you the best edited recording, it's helpful to pause when you make a mistake, go back to the beginning of the sentence and say it again. Rushing through mistakes or just restating a single word, will it make it difficult for Donzo to edit well.

Talk with Donzo! Ha! But, I'm kinda serious. If you help explain to Donzo in your recording what you'd like cut or kept or what your intentions are, that can really help it edit well.
